This brings me back to a recent memory.

I was at a 5 year old boy’s birthday party this past weekend and out loud, in front of everyone before blowing out the candles he said, “I wish that everyone who knows me will love me forever.”

I just thought that was the sweetest 5 year old boy wish.

Our lil western cowboy.

Elijah attended his first (themed) birthday party this weekend at the Boomtown Family Fun Center- (for a 5 year old friend) This place is AKA the funnest place to have a birthday party if you’re a kid. Motion theatre, carousel, ferris wheel, high drop, mini golf, arcade galore…the list goes on.

He had to miss his 1st nap to attend, so was pretty quiet and reserved, but he still managed to join in the festivitites by decorating the paper table cloth with crayons, eating pizza, having amazement for the balloons, sharing new smiles with new friends, watching Jaxton blow out candles after his merry song…so, he got a good fill of fun.

I was so jazzed about his first carousel ride, and felt bad he hadn’t been already…and it was broken and out of service for the day. I wore a sad face for a minute but EJ didn’t seem to mind. And it will be great to go back when he’s rested.

BTW- Elijah is mad teething these days with some huge chompers.

church, simple soup and sandwich lunch at home, reading outside in the sun while watching ej play and jon do yard work, smokin a whole chicken, coors light, Prairie Home Companion, family conversations, Elijah eating grapes and dried cherries for the 1st time!! Goes to prove that continuously trying to feed ej foods that were previously rejected will be a success! coors light, woodstove fire inside, happy hour snacks, and now…hopefully a good afternoon nap for Elijah! Ahh, the goods…

The delete button on my camera doesn’t work and my memory card is full. Don’t have another camera charged up to switch it over and my other cards are MIA. So, I haven’t been able to take any photos in over a week. I need to get this taken care of…too many priceless smiles and moments on Elijah’s behalf to capture for family and friends afar. I will get this problem solved this weekend I hope.

President’s Day weekend we finally made it down to Vegas for a family visit. This lil cutie is already 6 months and it was our first meeting. So super precious and sweet to finally get our loves together- this is Elijah’s newest cousin Jacey. They were gentle and kind with one another. She couldn’t keep her eyes off me and EJ couldn’t keep his hands off my sister Michelle. Almost like they were fine with switching mothers for the weekend. Gotta love the instincts that come with family ties.
